Horarios
Andalusia is in the CET (Central European Time) or CEST (Central European Summer Time) time zone during the summer time period, so it has GMT+1 in winter and GMT+2 in summer (GMT: Greenwich Meridian Time). Thus, on the last weekend in October the clock is set back one hour (03:00 is 02:00) and on the last weekend in March it is set forward one hour (02:00 is 03:00).
Mealtimes are usually a little later than in the rest of Europe: breakfast, very similar to continental style, is taken between 08:00 and 10:30 in the morning. Lunch in restaurants is served between 13:00 and 15:30, and dinner from 20:30 to 23:00. In any case, most tourist establishments adapt their opening hours to the European standard and, in practice, it is common for cafes and bars to have continuous service, making it possible to have tapas, mixed dishes, sandwiches and snacks at any time of the day.
Business hours are from 10:00 to 14:00 in the morning and from 17:00 to 20:00-21:00 in the afternoon. Large department stores have uninterrupted opening hours from 10:00 to 21:00-22:00. Shops and shopping centres open on Saturday mornings, although it is increasingly common in large cities to also be open on Saturday afternoons and some Sundays and public holidays. It should be noted that pubs, cocktail bars and nightclubs usually remain open until 03:00 or 04:00 in the morning during the weekends.
Pharmacies. Pharmacies are open during business hours, although in large cities it is increasingly common to find pharmacies open 24 hours a day. In any case, outside of business hours it is possible to find pharmacies on call that are open at any time of the night in different parts of the town. Lists with their names are displayed on the door of all pharmacies in the same town.
Museums and monuments usually have continuous hours during the day and normally close on some days between Monday and Thursday, as they are generally open on Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays.
The main Post Offices usually have uninterrupted hours from Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 20:30 hours and on Saturdays from 09:30 to 14:00 hours, closing on Sundays and holidays. The hours of the other Post Offices may vary depending on the type of office and its location. Stamps can also be purchased at tobacconists (shops that sell tobacco).
In general, public bodies (consulates, embassies, town halls, etc.) are open to the public between 08:30-09:00 and 14:00-15:00 from Monday to Friday.
Cinemas also tend to have flexible opening hours, starting between 16:30 and 17:00, in continuous sessions, until the last screening at around 22:00, although in large cities there are cinemas with opening hours at dawn. Theatres offer a single session starting at around 20:00.
